Slow down .... stop ... let go of brake ... "thunk"

Jack the rear of your vehicle up before you do it to fully extend the driveshaft, you'll get a lot more grease in.

    Drive side power window issue

Hey guys, I did quite a thorough search for anyone else mentioning this issue but didn't find anything that sound similar. Before I take apart my door I wanted to throw this out there in hopes I can buy the parts I'll need first. The problem: The window rolls up and down fine but I can tell...

    Hard Downshift

You'd likely feel a noticeable clunk, but it's pretty easy to fix. There are 6 grease zirks on the driveshafts and they should be periodically greased.

    Suspension (clunk)

When under your truck you'll see a bar going from wheel to wheel. That is your swaybar. The only place that it attaches to the body of the truck is where you'll find the bushing that is likely causing the noise. It is held in place by 2 bolts and a u-clamp and will take you 30 minutes to...

    Suspension (clunk)

I couldn't replicate the noise either. It's the body bushing that you should check, not the end link bushing. Like I said, it's cheap and very easy to fix and it can't hurt to replace anyways so you might as well start there. The end link bushing you are talking about it harder to fix and...

    Suspension (clunk)

Had the exact same issue, changed the bushings (2) for $16 (toyota dealer price) and the noise is gone. Start with the bushings as they are much cheaper than the end links. If noise is still there, then look at end links.

Pros / Cons of 4th Gen. What year to buy?

Another thing to look out for with the 04 you are looking at. 100k miles is right around when the vehicle require a major service of the timing belt, water pump, and pulley's. This maintenance will set you back $700-$1200 if it hasn't been completed so use that in your negotiations.

Pros / Cons of 4th Gen. What year to buy?

The V8 vs. V6 debate has been talked about at length on here so you'll find lots of information. The V8 has an iron block and therefore thought to have better longevity than the aluminium V6. Time will tell, but really I'd say both are bullet-proof motors and there are countless examples of...
