We pull our trucks into the office, the front of the truck was about 4' from his desk where he was sitting. He went to take a look of his own volition. Also I had my mouth on a dirty vacuum hose at the time so I think he was better off on the relatively clean concrete floor.
There are a lot of threads on ADD troubleshooting here and some of them have helped me in the past. I just finished troubleshooting another perplexing issue and I want to share what happened so that maybe it will help someone else.
My 94 T4R had a problem with 4wd not engaging when I bought it...
I was just looking for threads to help me plan my install in my 3rd gen, I know this is an old post but I just want to say this is a really gorgeous and functional install, nice setup!
I read up more on the pilot bearing. That sounds exactly like the problem. Maybe I'll ask them to drop the transmission and check with me there, see what the problem is, I'll pay if it's not their fault, but if it is I'll want them to cover it.
Being nice with this shop got me a month-long wait for a motor swap that they said would take a week. I'm really regretting bringing it there at all. Now they're backing down about the flywheel shim after talking with a Toyota pro and trying to blame the transmission gear oil. I think they're...
Yeah the manager at the shop will be in in an hour, in the meantime I'm trying to think about how I want to handle this. We'll see what he says this morning, but I'm tempted to say "fix it or I'll have someone else do it and send you a bill."
What has me stumped is that it shifts fine while...
Hi guys, it's been a while as I've been busy with work and the truck had been running smoothly. A while back I finally decided to get my chronic oil leak fixed and had the valve cover gaskets done (been too busy to do it myself). Leak was still there. Later I had the rear main seal done. Since...
My '94 just blew the head gasket at 251k. Rebuilt engine being put in now. I had just put a freshly rebuilt Marlin Crawler transmission on it about a month ago when I had the rear main seal replaced.
Got the lights on today, and functional. Quite a lot of light for only 54W. Yay LEDs. I'm told the winch is inbound to me via FedEx.
This truck has come a long way since I bought it in September.
Here's my 2nd gen. I should have ordered it with the turn signals, but I thought the side/parking lights were also turn signals. Doh. Just finished putting on my own signals this afternoon.
Now just waiting on the winch (ahem).
Nice bumper, guys!
