Pop or loud click sound when starting engine?

Has anyone else experienced a pop or moderately loud click sound when the engine turns over? This seems to happen after the car sits in cool weather for 8 to 10 hours or more. There is a single pop sound coming from the engine bay while starting. There is no other abnormal sound afterwards...

Is this a coolant leak/HG issue?

If you don't see a drop in coolant level, it's probably not coolant in the exhaust.

    Done with these bad brakes!

Replaced my front right caliper today. My 4Runner is a 2007 that I've owned since 2009. My first replacement was in April, 2014 with lifetime warranty calipers from O'Reilly Auto Parts. Both of the original calipers had both inner pistons totally seized. They were bad enough that I had to...

[VIDEO] Please help me to diagnose front end noise

I'm also thinking that could be it. I'm also wondering if it could be the steering shaft or coupler. I'll see if I can get a closer look at these possibilities. Thank you.

[VIDEO] Please help me to diagnose front end noise

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately this noise was present before and after replacing the lower control arms and ball joints. So I'm pretty certain that's not it. Any other ideas?

[VIDEO] Please help me to diagnose front end noise

My 2007 Toyota 4Runner has a front end clunk when driving over potholes and bumps at low speed. I've replaced the sway bar end links and bushings. Both upper ball joints and lower control arms are also pretty new. Bilstein 5100's at 2.5" with new strut mounts done about 2.5 years ago. The...

    CV Boots Leaking...

Just lightly with a nut driver. Enough to snug them and stop the dripping but not risk tearing the boot. You can always snug them more if they leak, so don't go nuts at first.

    CV Boots Leaking...

You don't need 9mm clamps. That's the width, not the diameter. You need the size I mentioned. They are still available on Amazon... Cheers

    CV Boots Leaking...

The west marine clamps are discontinued, but may be special ordered. I just did this. Unfortunately, the clamps they supplied are not correct. They're now substituting a clamp that is both too wide and also not smooth on the inside. You need a smooth clamp that's 9mm wide. The 25-40mm size...

    Lift suggestions, please...

Right, plus shipping. And I was pricing the complete strut assembly which includes the spring, etc. Total is about $450 to go that route, including the spacer lift. Anyway, thanks for the input and listening to me debate this all in my head. I just pulled the trigger on a complete set of...

    Lift suggestions, please...

Stock shocks are an option I would consider. I'm trying to weigh these options: 1. Spacer lift plus Monroe Quick Struts and Monroe 37184 rear shocks (they're for a Land Cruiser and are slightly longer than stock). Cost of a little under $450 2. Return spacer lift and buy 2 Bilstein front...
