I just lined the inside of the rubber insert with them all the way around bottom to top. It helps the sticking issue a lot even without the velcro. Nalgene bottles fit nicely in the holes if you take the rubber insert out. Otherwise, any bottle of water should be fine with the insert installed.

Thank you for sharing this! I've been annoyed that the passenger side opened all the doors but the driver's side couldn't unlock all of them. All is well now.
