In my experience, an 8" in the proper enclosure, on enough power on reserve is usually sufficient for most people. It's usually when the woofer is in too small of an enclosure or underpowered when it's just not enough.

I was just comparing the SD4 in 8". It has about 1mm LESS depth than the JL. So it should work. I prefer the inverted surround on the SD4 as well. Helps with front clearance imho.

Sounds like the route I plan on going. Question: will the factory enclosure fit a standard SR5 WITHOUT 3rd row? I've only seen it retrofitted in a 3rd row model.

Another vote for the Eibach kit. I did shocks only on all 4 corners . Front at 1.6. Rides great, better than my friends Bilsteins. Nose dive eliminated. I went Eibach for the ride and their suspension experience.

That makes sense. I just take exception to statements like the one I quoted. Blanket, sweeping and uninformed statements tend to be wrong...that one was a prime example.
