    4WD Transfer Case Overhaul

I can help you with the timing. I had to figure it out myself as well. Very tricky, but it CAN be done (I had to do it.) I ended up replacing the actuator at the dealer after all that work, but maybe I can give you a helping hand. Let me know where you are, and I'll see what we can figure out...

Two or Four New Tires? (Center Diff Question)

ABS and VSC require your tire sizes to be identical. Tires that have different wear levels will be of different sizes, naturally, as the tire wears. For the sake of safety, replace in sets! You don't want the ABS and VSC computers to miscalculate because it thinks conditions such as wheel slip...

    Ticking noise part throttle

This is probably the VSC initializing itself once you drive a few MPH. It fires up all the actuator motors and control relays, and it probably pressurizes itself as well, as a form of a self check. Completely normal.

    Ticking noise part throttle

That sounds like brake pads moving in their mounts as you change direction. Does this happen when you lightly apply the brakes after having changed directions?

ATRAC kicking in after new wheels

Take it to your dealer. They will use the Toyota diagnostic scanner system, which should take less than one minute. Also, it's free.

    Strange noise, chassis flex?

Does this happen when you apply the brakes? Mine does this constantly. It's the brake pads moving back and forth in their mounts. Example: If I put it in reverse, and lightly tap the brakes, I'll hear several clunks as the brake pads move backwards. Then, if I put it in Drive, and then lightly...

ATRAC kicking in after new wheels

Do a zero point calibration. The new ride height isn't sitting well with the stored values for the yaw rate accelerometer. As a result, it thinks you're on the verge of tipping over, due to higher center of gravity. Do the zero point calibration, and all will be well.

Toyota owners site updating timeline good!

Can take a few days. Give it a week for sure.

    4th Gen questions

Check to be sure your 4Lo actuator isn't seized! Had this issue on mine, was from disuse by previous owner. Cost $2300 with discounts to replace at Toyota. If it does work, keep it working by using it monthly.

    Brief whirring/revving noise at startup

This system is part of emissions control. It basically does exactly what it sounds like - it injects air into your emissions system so that it passes emissions standards. Here's a good read on it: Secondary air injection - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

HELP ! Dealer service can't figure out my problem !

My pleasure. Keep in mind though, balancing and alignment are different. My bet is that the car had a front-wheel alignment job done at some point (was there any history on the car?), and this changed the steering wheel position sensor. Even if it didn't, they should do a zero-point calibration...

    Idle RPMs?

Though specifically for the V8 that has a timing belt, rather than the timing chain in the V6, this thread may have something relevant to your issue (seems it resolves itself after a few days once the ECM learns cam positions properly.)...

HELP ! Dealer service can't figure out my problem !

Ask the dealer to perform a zero point calibration for your VSC system. It's likely that the VSC's zero-point is stored to something that's not a true zero point. When that happens, as you go around a corner, the car believes you are spinning out of control, as the stored values for the steering...

    Idle RPMs?

High RPM on first (cold) start is normal, as it heats up the catalytic converter to keep emissions under control. The fan clutch should also engage, as it is filling with the fluid from the clutch's internal reservoir. After about 15-30 seconds, fan should spin down. The engine RPMs will likely...

    Fender flares?

The square ones are on 2003-2005 models, 2006-2009 brought the rounded ones, LED tail lights, and other updates.
