My 2017 4runner had a slight shake with 10 miles on the odometer. Completely stock while driving home from picking it up at the dealer. Happens around 60-65 mph.
I have 5 sets. 3 are Hutchinson, 2 are wheels that I modified. Lighter the better. Forged aluminum is stronger then cast. Most people are fine with an outer beadlock. Weld on steel rings have a tendency to wobble and leak air. Mine are mostly for very low pressures on deep snow.
My newest set...
I see a pinhole in the weld crater and a little bit of splatter. There are nice gussets further back and the top gusset going all the way to the end of the tube would be stronger. Dye test is your best bet. Weld might be undercut or it could just be bad paint prep.
Here is one of my old 4runners. Built it back around 2008, sold it to a guy in Oregon a few years ago.
36" SXs
Champion beadlocks
Detroit's front and rear
Longfield axles bought from Bobby
Marlin 4.7 tcase gears
Toyota dealer in Bremerton Washington has one in transit, not sure if there is a deposit on it. I'm guessing it's on the same boat as mine, due in the next few weeks.
Dealership salesperson I am dealing with says the TRDPRO 4runners come from Japan as regular models to Portland then all the PRO items are added in a warehouse before being shipped to dealers. Some of the items are installed by dealers. I test drove one that had just arrived and the back was...
Just Put a deposit down on this one. Thanks for the lead.
Joy says it's still on the boat from Japan. It will arrive in Portland next month. They install all the TRD parts in Portland then truck it to the dealers.
