Alright after freakin out. I did a little research. Found a used trans with 105k miles for $750. And a shop to do the swap for $850. Not something I wanted to do in the middle of winter.

So, my tyranny is on its last leg. 350k miles. I just got a quote from two of the local shops...$5000 to rebuild. What the hell are they smoking. Sounds a little high. One of these shops rebuilt my dodge 2500 trans three years ago for $1200. Crazy. Does any one have a lead on a a340f?

Cook city gate... beartooth pass, chief Joseph highway. If you come up from Colo. And Utah. Toward West Yellowstone. Drive through Jackson hole.(Grand Tetons). The park and surrounding areas are my stompin grounds. I know lots of spots. Let me know if you have any questions.

They didn't even last a year. Rubber is ripping along the edge. Not even near a mounting hole. These are a joke!

Yeah that shop sounded sketchy in your other post. It wouldn't surprise me if they used the cheapest Chinese crap for parts. So it's possible the shoes wore out in a few months. Especially if they didn't replace the drums or have them turned. The stealership maybe a bit pricey. We have great...
