If it has a factory tow package there is a good likely hood that it does have a tranny cooler. Just get under the front end and look.

Could also have to do with the tires. My Revos throw rocks like you wouldn't believe. Your Michelins probably don't pick up as many. I also don't have the cladding on my SR5.

While I agree that the 4Runner employs a "coil over", when replacing the shock absorber within the "coilover". Most parts sites and auto parts stores call them "struts". You can replace the whole "coil over" assembly, but you're talking big $$$. Someone correct me if I'm wrong here...

I've read that the multi-reflector design of the 99-02 yields around 15% more light. This is the main reason that people tend to do this mod. That and they look cooler. :cool:

I recently had to replace my swaybar bushings. It was real easy except for the fact that I broke the factory brackets trying to take them off. Order the energy suspensions greasable swaybar kit, you wont regret it. Here's a writeup. http://www.yotatech.com/showthread.php?t=76361

Removing the running boards gives you a little more ground clearance. However, as another poster indicated, they do an excellent job of protecting the paintjob from rocks. So if you don't install some mudflaps you can expect some rock chips on your paint.

Front are struts, rears are shocks.

6500 seems reasonable. 180K miles isn't all that much for a Toyota, if it's been maintained. I'd ask the PO for any maintenance records. Try to determine if/when the Timing belt/water pump has been changed. Check to see if the rear axle seals are leaking. Check CV joints, P/S rack, U...

It's true. Some people cut a hole in the skid to make oil changes easier. I've heard good things about Bentup. although, I didn't see any skids plates on his site...

Possibly the wheel bearings. Jack up the truck, grab the wheel at 3 and 9 o'clock and push on one side while pulling on the other. If there is any play, it's your bearings.
