Does the drive line use synthetic or standard 90 wt? I'm talking about a 1987 4R here...not one of the new high tech gizmos

White Lithium grease works well on the mechanism. Don't use a spray though as it can get on the glass...makes a mess!

Used to have this problem on occassion with my 87 4R. Discovered that it only happened when I ran Premium fuel through its veins.

Were you able to utilize the brackets without the plastic spacers or did you use them? I only have two of them left. Could probably use something in place of them I imaginge. Thanks for the info.
