    FS: 5th GEN 2012 4Runner Limited $28.5k - Golden, CO

SOLD Sold the vehicle this morning 4/22 to a dealership for an effective price of $27,950. Quickly got tired of dealing with the craigslist crowd. $28,500 (pretty firm on this number - unless it doesn't sell for a couple weeks - turned down $27,800 over the weekend) 2012 Limited located in...

    Trail Edition Availability

Stevenson Toyota West in Colorado has a few 2013 trail editions as of last week when I was in there. I imagine they'll ship. Or it's a 13 hour drive one way. Done it a few times since I grew up in Naperville. If you decide to call this dealership PM me and I'll give you the name/number of...

What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

What does you growing up in snow county have to do with whether chains were prudent on a shaded section of a certain road in Colorado that regularly (based on personal experience the last 8 years) has a layer of ice under the snow near a runoff in October and November? Just curious.

^^^ Don't know the back story but that Sasquatch sighting is awesome. On an unrelated note, went skiing and had reason to use the chains for the first time with the new truck.

    Extended Warranty

I'm waiting to close to the end of my current 3 year warranty so I have a better idea of how much mileage I'm putting on my vehicle so I can better guess which warranty makes sense, e.g. 7 year 100k miles or the 7 year 125k miles. Also might as well not pay $1,200 now when I can do it 2.5 years...

    Colorado wisdom?

Picked this rock up a week ago before the snow. Was trying to quickly pass a live bottom semi (precisely to avoid this situation) so I'm guessing it was directly related to the truck this time. Zero deductible windshield policy with my insurance company though. Sucks about the hood SgnDen...

    Colorado wisdom?

One thing I don't think we've mentioned in this you don't have to leave the pavement in Colorado to find rocks in the road. Only had the truck 10 weeks and it's time for a new windshield. Although it could be much worse. This happened in 2006 about 10 miles from my house. Guy was not in car...

Got rear-ended -- what to check for?

Yes, there are caveats and possibly some risks in not immediately involving your insurance company to play middle man when you're involved in an accident where it seems certain that you won't need them because liability is clear and you're not injured.

Got rear-ended -- what to check for?

Last time my wife got rear ended it took about 10 minutes worth of phone calls and emails to the at-fault party's insurer, on top of dealing with getting the damage quoted and repaired, which you have to do anyway. Plus we got a small amount of money if my wife agreed not to sue for bodily...

Got rear-ended -- what to check for?

In situations like this I deal with the at-fault driver's insurance directly and leave my insurance company out of it. No reason I see not to get her insurance involved if you think you might have damage.
