Proof of the madness

So I am pulling my tent trailer I built to Colorado in the runner. The question I have: is eleven miles per gallon normal? I can't believe it's so low but I've never really pulled anything other than a utility trailer.

Well I went and got it aligned at a reputable shop and was able to give them the numbers and expectations that I wanted and man what a difference. Drives really well now . Guess alignments aren't all equal. Thanks for all the help.

Opie, not trying to disagree but according to my fsm that's just not true. I attached the page on camber and caster adjustment. I am not sure how much it will help but it is definitely adjustable.

Well guys I feel pretty stupid about this but it looks like the buddy I trusted to do the alignment isn't all he is cracked up to be. The numbers are all over the place and after looking at what they should be I am sure that a good alignment should fix my problems... lame The numbers read out...

I have the alignment paperwork somewhere. I'll find it and post the results. The tires are Toyo open country's at 265 75 15's.

Well I went ahead and replaced the guide on the rack with the roller type. No change . Then I over tightened the guide and man it's worse... No idea why that would be. So to clarify I have replaced all shocks, struts and tie rod ends. Bushings in rack and pinion, had it aligned and still it...

Ok guys... Back to the top. After the lift and alignment with the tie rods replaced I still have the wander. On flat roads it's great, tracks straight and everything is good. On rutted roads it's scary... So I took it back to the alignment shop and they told me everything is good, all is tight...

The ride is the most impressive part. It had some wandering issues and rode like a broken cart but now it's true and solid. Steers truer and even stops without any pull. I love the look and even the wife noticed the feel of the ride, can't beat that. How is yours treating you?
