Right. The old model is always better. What IS generally true is that the first year of a new model is often a bit more problematic, but that isn't normally the case with Toyota.

In general, there types of hood decals are there for a reason - in this case to reduce glare, but these two decals on the sides of the hood don't do that. But hey, we don't have to look at it, you do - and if you like them, then leave them.

That's some sort of aftermarket crap added by the dealer. Make them remove it, replace any harnesses they hacked into and replace that trim. When you're done with that, make sure you keep the WO that shows them removing it if you have issues in the future and file a complaint with whatever...
