4runner hit while parked, thoughts on damage + additional work.

I had the factory running boards but hated the look. I got it lifted on day one and had rock sliders also installed. I think my rock sliders have saved me a lot of door dings for sure and other possible cosmetic damage. 2012 SR5 absolutely pristine condition. never selling this rig.

Are the OEM Toyota rubber all weather floor mats cheaply made?

When I bought my 4 runner in 2012 it came with both sets of mats. Carpeted and rubber. The rubber are holding up great after 12 years in snow country I’ve no complaints at all. I don’t think they are particularly thin. Easy to clean.

    sunroof drain cleaning

I understand how the drains get plugged, but doesn’t it have to be left open outside in the elements? I’ve not seen this addressed but if the sunroof is closed when parked outside how can debris get in there? This seems way too simple. I wouldn’t leave my 4Runner outside with the roof slider...

    Cracked windshield.

Driving back from Crater Lake once in winter, cold outside, needed the defrost on and the heat from the defroster cracked the glass or at least that's what I think happened. There was probably a tiny chip down low and not noticeable that caused it to crack when it warmed up. Not sure but my...

Question about 4WD monthly maintenance on an ORP

I run mine in 4Hi on straight stretches of paved road to keep it lubed.(2012 SR5) It is safe to run in 4HI at speeds up to 55 I believe my manual says, but I generally keep it no more than 45 or so max. The main thing on pavement is to keep it straight because the wheels won't be able to slip...

why AC compress engaged when I switch to blow warm air to windshield.

Yes, this is what I meant. You explained it a bit better. my SR5 being a 2012 model year apparently works differently then the newer models in this regard.

why AC compress engaged when I switch to blow warm air to windshield.

Not sure about newer rigs but in my 2012 SR5 there is a setting one notch back from full defroster. I believe it divides the flow between floor and windshield. In this position the AC does not turn on. I use it frequently in winter. It puts an adequate amount of air on the windshield.

    Oil Change Interval Poll

I use the time interval and do it annually only because I only drive around 4k per year. If I drove more I'd change every 5k>7k probably. 2012 SR5. w/56k on the clock

    Noise coming from inside dash

I watched a YouTube video on how to take that stuff apart and pull the radio unit out. Didn't look too difficult so I tried it and sure enough was pretty easy. No more fan noise, fixed! So glad to have that noise out of my head every time I drove anywhere.

    Noise coming from inside dash

I couldn't find any old threads on this forum regarding this issue but after some Google searching I found other forums with quite a bit of information. Apparently several people on one forum were suffering from this fan noise issue. It looks like it's not a hard job to remove the radio and...

    Noise coming from inside dash

Thanks, that has to be it. I wonder what would happen if it stopped working? Going to try and find that thread/post.

    Noise coming from inside dash

Was wondering if anybody knows if there's some sort of cooling fan inside the dash between the entertainment system and the AC. Ever since I bought the car in 2012 I've noticed a slight hum when it was either in accessory or ignition mode. Problem is it has gotten much worse and off and on it...
