    Leaving the family...

Too luxury for me as well, honestly. And they no longer even come with choices of options. They all come with EVERYTHING whether you want it or not. Ideally I would have cloth seats and a diesel, but I do need the space, towing and overall toughness.

    Leaving the family...

But not going very far! After two generations of 4Runner, I decided to sell my 4th gen and get a 2014 Land Cruiser. It's very different, yet in many ways, very similar. I already did wheels and tires and will be installing a mild lift. I'll always be a 4Runner guy at heart, but for now the...

Brakes extremely spongy after going offroad

I have another thought. You may have a seized caliper or two. Our trucks are prone to this in the front and mud + standing water may have pushed you over the edge. Unfortunately some remanufactured calipers are really the only practical fix if that is what it is, but you probably will find you...

    3-ton Jack Stands Safe Enough...?

I use 3-ton stands as well, but put some cut off 2x12 wood pads under each. This gives me a little more extension if needed, but more importantly, adds to the stability since the legs dig into the wood and the wood itself grips the concrete a little better so there is less risk of slippage. It's...

"Ghosts" with an appearance from my T4R ;)

Gorgeous work, Eric. Are you using a Steadycam type mount for those pans? Which one? Do you mind sharing what your rig was? Thanks!

BFG AT vs. Hankook ATM RF 10

Goodyear Duratrac's guys. End of story. I had many sets of BFG, both MT and AT. The Duratracs are the PERFECT compromise tire. Great looks, more aggressive than the AT's, snow rated, not too loud on the road, and studdable. Dig it.

FS: Tires, Wheels and Running Boards

Thanks, Rick! I put them on Craigslist locally last night and am getting buried with emails, so they should go fast. Tough to ship and have it make sense financially.

FS: Tires, Wheels and Running Boards

Folks, Many apologies for my lack of response. My darn spam filter was stuffing all the notifications and I don;t come to the site much. If anyone is still interested in the tires, let me know. Sorry for my lameness. cgardnerma

Vibration at 1100-1500RPM after water crossing...

Irresponsible is not the right word, but it is also not the right way to do a water crossing unless you want water slammed into every possible orifice in your truck. You surely got something wet or muddy that doesn't like to be that way. In general, I found the 4Runner to be a beast in the...

Newbie about to be 4runner owner

    Too high. I bought a 2008 V6 4WD with 39K miles for $20,500.

Yeah, the rims are gone. I could not figure out how to chnage the title in my post.
