    JBL Synthesis & Aftermarket Navigation

Great advice! Forgot to mention this, but it is a very important step! Per the PAC TATO installation instructions: I suggest going full volume like bgibbs11 did before removing the old JBL head unit.

    JBL Synthesis & Aftermarket Navigation

There are several posts on this subject. Basically, the JBL Synthesis systems needs a separate "turn-on" signal for the factory amp that allows aftermarket head units to integrate with it. This is why regular wiring harnesses don't typically work, unless you plan to run all new amps or power...

Squeaking Noise With New Rear Brakes?

Good to hear that the noise is mostly gone. I second Greydog...and you...in that the ebrake dragging may be what's causing the remaining noise.

Squeaking Noise With New Rear Brakes?

Ah, gotcha. Was there enough anti-squeal grease applied between the shim/backing plate and the new pads? Perhaps the pads are just bedding to the rotor or one of the plates could be bent.

Squeaking Noise With New Rear Brakes?

When doing the brakes on my dad's Tundra, I remember that there were some small wire springs that help push the pads away from the rotors when not depressed (similar to the image below). Perhaps they may not be on correctly or fell off. They are sometimes easy to overlook. Another thing could...

2006 Limited bogging down when throttled

I believe that we may have found the issue. Updated the first post in case anyone was interested.

2006 Limited bogging down when throttled

I am hoping you are right. I gave in and dropped it off at the dealer this morning. It seems to occur only when idling after at least minute or so (when engine is at temp with the a/c on). It doesn't do it while the vehicle is in motion. I'll keep everyone posted. Thanks to all for their...

2006 Limited bogging down when throttled

I actually seafoam'd it two weeks ago. Ran 1/2 a bottle through the vacuum line and added a full bottle to a full tank of gas. I was talking to a Lexus Tech and he seems to think that it is a fuel-related issue. Our pumps typically don't go bad according to him. He said for me to check the...

2006 Limited bogging down when throttled

I was able to clean the throttle body like zopperman/others have suggested and the fluctuating idle seems to have improved. It was pretty gunked up. However, the intermittent bogging still occurs once the engine it at temp (after at least 10 minutes of driving). I was able to park it and let it...

2006 Limited bogging down when throttled

So, I decided to drive the T4R for about 10 min around my neighborhood after the truck had cooled off for a couple of hours and had no issues while driving. After that, I let it sit stopped in gear for about 2-3 min to mimic the stop light and idled in park for another 5 min and it started the...

2006 Limited bogging down when throttled

It could very well be. The only thing that gets me is that I have replicated the issue at least 5-6 times today and there is no check engine light at all. Replacing the MAF reset these codes and I haven't had any since. From what I can tell bad o2 sensors tend to throw a code pretty quickly...

2006 Limited bogging down when throttled

Thanks so much for your suggestion! It definitely made a lot of sense to me. Hopefully I can get to the bottom of this. I just want to be able to enjoy my T4R for more than a few weeks at a time.

2006 Limited bogging down when throttled

I just checked and part of Toyota's induction service includes throttle body cleaning. It seems as if there is plenty of air coming in, but not enough fuel to keep it going after I give it some gas and eventually stalls. If needed, I can take a video of what is going on so everyone can see...

2006 Limited bogging down when throttled

I guess that could be it too. Do you think I just need to clean it? I did see from the maintenance records that an "induction service' was also performed at the dealer during the 120K service with the previous owners. I wonder if that generically means "replace air filter" or if it also...
