I've got Tundra 17 inch wheels on my 2wd 4Runner, wrapped in Hankook DynaPro 265/65 tires. I bought a Tundra cheapo silver steel factory wheel (all I could find when I started worrying about having a flat and the wrong size spare still on the truck) and stuck a used Goodyear Wrangler 267/70-16...

Lotta folks sell their crossbars since they have replaced them with a rack that mounts directly to the roof tracks. If all you want is crossbars, then you might be able to find those on ebay or the sale area here. The roof tracks are the hard part to find.

Yeah. Craigslist is great down here..especially if you want a $40 bicycle or some baby clothes. I envy you guys that are closer to a big city and have an active CL. :)

Put your foot on the brake and put your 4runner in drive, then reverse, then drive again (assuming you have an automatic.) Listen for similar clunk. As mentioned, might be UJoint slack. Just replaced mine due to vibration.

Follow that plug wire to a little silver box behind the radio - that's your old amp, probably! ;) Remove the amp and you will find the wires/plugs you need plugged into the back. The new radio has an internal amp. Plug in your larger antenna wire and tape off the small one. Works fine.

Rust free, in good condition, I don't know that I could pass it up. Considering the way they hold their value, you could drive it for awhile and then sell it if you decided to go back to 4Runners. Clean 4runner's are easy to find compared to a clean LC. Get it while you can, live the dream. If...

Awesome writeup. Naturally I did my 231 upgrade this evening before finding this thread! :) One thing I might add: Tin snips worked quick and easy on trimming the dust shield, if anybody doesn't have a dremel. The metal is soft, and cut well with the snips. I didn't realize that the weight...

Ujoints. Mine would vibrate under load/acceleration, but coast and rev smoothly. Didn't seem to have that much slack, but ujoints fixed it right up. Easy.
