Taking a closer look at the rotors may be a good idea....check to see if they meet the minimum thickness specifications...if not...they're not safe...the rotors could also be warped...this normally causes the pulsating feel...you'll have to get them replaced if they're warped...
I remember reading somewhere that in the 5th Gens, since the rack is not fixed onto the cross bars and is fixed onto the frame instead; the capacity is more. In which case it should have a 300 lbs limit...not too sure about it though...
Can understand your excitement....that's a sweet ride!... the plastic is really that soft though....I've tried taking off scratches with my nail as well...didn't work so well....and the scratches show up pretty bad on it too...tis sad...but congratulations on the rest of it!

You'll probably need to make a stop at an auto parts store and pick up a trim removal tool. Once you have that, start with the part that you need to remove, pry it up and work your way through.

I've left it plugged in for about a week or so but nothing happened....guess I got lucky considering it was pretty hot out at the time...more careful about it now.Always better to take it in with you each time.
