Potentially Ridiculous Question - Brush Guard & Alignment

This may or may not be a ridiculous question... I bought my 4Runner with a brush guard and have since then put 1" spacers in the front to level it out, and got it aligned immediately after the lift. I also got the tires balanced recently and it's silky smooth on the road now. However, I've...

    Buzzing noise/vibration in steering wheel

I have a similar issue with my 07 SR5 - slight buzzing in the steering wheel/column at highway speeds (70+). Curious if anybody found a cause and solution.

High-pitched noise from glove box area - Cause?

The sound emanates from behind the glove box, behind which I unplugged just about everything. The noise never went away until I unplugged the ECM. Does literally all the power flow through it? That doesn't seem right to me.

High-pitched noise from glove box area - Cause?

I found the source of the high-pitched noise. It was gone when I pulled the power to this device. I'm assuming it's the ECU. If so, what are my options BlackWorksInc?

High-pitched noise from glove box area - Cause?

Thanks - this has been very helpful. I thought it was the ECU/ECM because I've seen other posts claiming replacing it solved the problem. My thought is, like you led on, a capacitor could be whining from within. As for the actuator, does it have the ability to make a constant, non-fluctuating...

High-pitched noise from glove box area - Cause?

Beginning to become more confident that it's the ECU.

High-pitched noise from glove box area - Cause?

Would it sound almost electronic with no fluttering? This is very close to the sound I'm hearing, though not quite as high.

High-pitched noise from glove box area - Cause?

Finding other threads indicating it could be the ECU. Is it safe to cut the power to that through a fuse?

High-pitched noise from glove box area - Cause?

Update: unplugged wiring from the blower and the tone still remained. Unplugged another connection near the motor (resistor maybe?) and that too didn't work. I'm stumped. In the cabin, the tone is very high pitched. Under the hood, there is a lower pitched noise but it doesn't seem isolated...

High-pitched noise from glove box area - Cause?

Is there a fuse I can pull to cut power to the motor? Also, would it be possible that the resistor is causing the motor to whine? I'd rather avoid replacing the motor if the resistor is the problem.
