Interested in this as well. I wasn't able to find any AT with the right width when I needed new tires. I ended up in Premier LTX for rain performance, but I have to say I've put a decent number of gnarly forest miles on them and only needed 4x4 once.

I'm planning to head into the Ochoco from Portland, if the fire danger isn't bad. I'm still hunting a backup. I'm definitely curious to hear about other spots within a few hours from I-5. I poked around a bit in the Siuslaw under the path but didn't find many options for dispersed camping that...
