Went to RadioShack and got this coax 90 degree elbow ($5.99). Without the elbow the coax cable will hit the back of the HVAC ducting.

-I need to tune my CB I don't have a swr reader though.
Things I need to do:
-Buy snap ring pliers to adjust 5100's

Picked up all of my supplies for my CB install. Took about 3 hrs with most of the time spent kept on making it look OEM.
REMOVE BEZEL AND TRIM (LOTS OF WRITE UPS ON HOW TO DO THIS)
I USED THE OEM ASH TRAY BRACKET TO SUPPORT THE CB RADIO.
I USED A DREMEL TO CUT OUT THE LOWER PART TO ALLOW...
I'm gonna order a 4ft firestik and 18ft coax cable.
I was gonna wire it with a just fusible link. But I could run it off a acc switch since you make a good point (reliability). I guess it's a good excuse to start making my acc switch panel.

Thanks for the feedback I usually know quite a bit of the automotive world but never CB's. I just realized they are similar to military comms.
