    Front skid plates

Granted, I did not have the fancy factory skid plates, just SR5 4WD model, but I banged my front skid plate pretty good fairly quickly to the point that it had to get notched and beat to put it back on after an oil change. The next skid plate that took a beating was the gas tank skid plate and I...

    Overlanding Shock Upgrade Questions

The benefits of being able to rebuild is that if they do get worn out or blown you can rebuild them or have a shop rebuild them. If you got with something like a Bilstien, sure they will replace them, but you have to pay for new ones, cross ship, or have your truck down for a week or more while...

small lift that maintains some rake

I would agree that Dobinson is probably your best choice for what you want. Since you want to lessen but not eliminate the rake, that makes this difficult.

is a 3" lift too much?

A lot of it comes down to the specific vehicle and suspension setup. I’ve got a SSO slimline bumper with the stage 2 high clearance sides. 5100s on the first lift setting and OME 3” lift heavy springs. ComeUp winch with steel cable. My tire shop was able to get the alignment in spec, but...

    Overlanding Shock Upgrade Questions

That’s a good chunk of extra weight. You’ll definitely sag the stock suspension a good bit. You’ll want springs for sure for the extra weight. Also need to determine if you need/want any lift. For shocks determine if you want to be able to rebuild them or not. 5100s and appropriate OME...

    SSO rear bumper

I’ve enjoyed mine so far. There’s a few things that are not stainless that I need to replace already. But no big deal. I’ve got 5100s and OME heavies. OP Have you decided where to cut your exhaust yet? I haven’t cut mine yet but don’t have any serious wheeling until April or June on the horizon.

What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

Replaced my "lightly used" front skid plates with RCI steel. While it was up on the rack I luckily looked at my fuel tank skid... and now I know which skid plate I need to buy next.

Portable Air Compressor and Jumper Options ?

+1 for ARB. I copied someone off this forum and mounted the single where the jack and stock tools are mounted behind the rear plastic panel instead of under the hood. A lot of work, for simplicity just buy the kit pictured before in the thread with it mounted in a tool box. Can’t go wrong with...

    Bilstein setup

You don't need the spacer. Set the bilstien shock to the first raised setting instead if you want to level the front/rear. What else are you running that makes you want the heavy coils?

What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

Not technically today, but yesterday. Need to find something to extend the coupler out and attack the cover with a hot knife to finish it up.

Awful MPG on a new 5th Gen

I get 15-16 depending on driving. I accelerate slightly faster than the “Eco” light wants. ~4” front lift 3” rear, Prinsu Roof Rack, SSO Bumper with a steel cable winch, 285 KO2s, 4wd ‘16 SR5, . If you have a heavy foot I could see 13 around town easily. But you’d also be drag racing from every...

Any lifted 4Runners with stock tire size?

Here's lifted with OME springs and 5100s, front set to first lifted setting, with stock sized Nitto TG2s. Here's same lift with 285/70/17 KO2s.

    SSO Slimline and Bilstein 5100

Wanted to check in on this. I'm in a similar boat but haven't bought any suspension parts yet. Just got the SSO Slimline and Come Up DV-9 winch (cable) installed and I'm guessing the front end has sagged ~2 inches. I've not decided if I want to just level it out or do about a 2" lift compared to...

What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

Did some rural exploration. Found some cool spots, ate a good burger, traveled over as many dirt/gravel roads as I could find. Even managed to find a little mud.

    Insurance Frustration!

The body shop that you go to can also help you out. On my previous car I got hit, the guy had no insurance so my insurance had to pay. They said aftermarket parts only. The shop i took it to replied back to them and said after market wheel tolerance is XX, the manufacturer says the wheels have...
