When would one experience binding?

Here’s my 302/505. That’s straight after install. It’s settled a bit since then. After a bit of use: Still has a rake. Probably 1.5” or so if I had to guess.

Probably not off of this vehicle, of course. There'd certainly be other symptoms if the OP's parts were missing. Or it could be the foot off of a refrigerator. Or the cap from a bottle of blinker fluid. Or a bobber that doesn't float.

It looks like the top bushing on a front strut or rear shock. Photos shows it fully compressed, while yours is unloaded.

You won't be disappointed :)

I think a lot of it has to do with wheel width/offset choices. The greater of either, the greater the likelihood of rubbing, and at varying extents.
