25K mile Update 25K mile update my 2011 T4R still downshifts for no good reason too much - dealer has been useless. I'd much rather replace a brake pad and the occasional rotor than a transmission. I'm finally used to the brake sound.

I have a new 2011 SR5 V6 4x4 w/ auto trans that does this consistently with the shifter in D mode. I don't like it one bit. My dealer service depart claims to to have no knowledge of this and says they can't reproduce it.

thanks for all the responses. I can live with the brake pedal noise but its the RPMs not dropping issue that really bothers me.

I agree with most that lifting any bike over your head to put upright on SUV roof is a PITA. Put the bike on your trailer, on a hitch rack or take off the front bike wheel and load the bike into the cargo area.
