    Brake upgrade?

Any clearance issues with the backing plate when going from 319mm to the 338's? Can you just put big rotors and and calipers and that's it? Thanks, Chris

What breaks on a 4th Gen? (Looking to buy one in a week or so)

Unless you 'upgrade' tires to a full 285/70/17 it'll do Hartwell fine... The V6's tolerate 265/70/17's or 255/75/17's very well but much more than that plus a 4k trailer might not be fun. I have the V6 and from being on this site and T120 for a while it shakes out like this: A few V6 guys wish...

FJ Springs on 2003 4R sport

Am i the only 4runner owner getting 11mpgs?

It doesn't sound like much but but areo drag increases as the square of speed. Once you hit the "wall" which, to me, seems to e a bit over 60, fuel consumption goes up dramatically as speed increases. I get amazing mpg if I don't exceed 65.

How often do you change your 07 2WD T4R’s spark plugs or 4th generation’s

Many have used Denso or NGK Iridium's with great results. In the legal, technical world that doesn't relieve you from the 30k interval but we all know that Iridium's run 100k plus without issue. I have the Densos. Mine starts well, gets good mpg and has no issues. I have 45k+ on the plugs at...

    1 inch cornfed Q

:iagree: I have both. The FJC springs and the airbags. If you do the spacers without the FJC springs defiantly do the airbags...

Tire choice help please. 3rd gen

With a 2.7L I'd look hard at 255/70's or even 245/75's. That'll get you to a similar or slightly taller tire that will roll easy, wear well at full 35psi (or more) and work well for you. I totally hear ya about putting too much tire on the 2.7L. My old Trooper was a joy to drive with 255/70/16...

Am i the only 4runner owner getting 11mpgs?

I can't speak to the Autolites. I have the Denso Iridiums and they are running good for me. I don't loathe Autolite plugs the way I do the cheap Champions but I don't have much love for them. That doesn't mean they are causing you issues, that's just my opinion based on some dated experiences...

Am i the only 4runner owner getting 11mpgs?

Ok, thought of something else... You're in salty PA. Go on a few mile drive with gentle to modest braking. Get out and touch all of the rims. If one or more is warmer than "luke warm" you may have a stuck caliper or two causing some brake drag. You should feel equal temps on the rear rims (R&L)...

Tire choice help please. 3rd gen

I would say any of those tire choices would be good. Some complain the Yoks get loud as they age. Not many have Hankooks but the few 4th gen guys that I have followed loved them. The TerraGrappler and it's Toyo cousin, Open country A/T, are solid choices but 45-53k tires rather than 55-60k...

2 or 4wd? Are in 4hi? What kind of tires? Are they inflated properly? Try resetting the ECM by pulling the breaker for a minute or two. You aren't using E85 are you:lmao: If everything is good and you don't have your 1000lb gold stash riding around in the back I'd look at cleaning the...
