I had this and it was because my tranny cooler line broke and filled my radiator to the point of over flowing I cought it in time and was able to flush every thing and saved the tranny
A rebuild will be fine I've done one and no problems and it's probably the solenoids that need to be replaced not the whole computer The quote seems reasonable but you could cut that cost in half if you pull your trans yourself
- plugs gapped correctly (Off the top of my head I think it's .44 or .45) who else is running dual ground plugs with a half inch spark gap? Seems like a lot to me
Really looks like that wheel bearing has been replaced before and all that damage is from a previous repair all I would replace is the seal with some extra goop on your axle housing, it's really hard to say if the shop even made the gouges
There's nothing wrong with a flush your trans pump is pushing around 150 psi and that Machine is barely putting in fluid to keep up with what the trans is pumping out so theeroetocly it's the same as putting your hose in a bucket and then trying to fill it up but if your trans is slipping it's...
I wouldn't worry about the rebuilder or the trans I'm a trans mechanic and these trans are pretty run of the mill if he did anything wrong your gonna know within a few miles and if that happens the mechanic should back up his product I've got a rebuilt in my 99 and probably gonna do my 2001 next...
Just replaced both front wheel bearings and I still have some noise so I'm going for the rears, just wondering what I'm getting into what I might need I've done plenty of 3rd gens and if it's anything like that I'm not looking fwd to it so any insight would be helpful!! It's an 05 4wd rear disc
If it's all local driving I would just wait till the tranny goes if you want piece of mind do a glycol test on the trans fluid that will tell you if coolant is in there the problem with the coolant it attacks the seals swelling them to a point where they don't work and destroys the friction...
Hopefully with the new radiator they didn't have the pink milk shake! I've seen so many times people have a cooler failure and just try flushing every thing out and having the transmission go out on them like a year later I'm in zeeland not far from you if you have a trans problem develop get...
Crazy! Cases usually don't just crack, could have been damaged from removal and nobody's owning up to it. Depending on where the crack is it may not affect performance that cooler failure is all to common but if the rad is fine you shouldn't need a secondary cooler I think they're just doing...
Lol! I can't remember exactly where I bent it it was up by the handle I replaced the hatch and that's when I ran into the problem and it could still be wrong tumbler for the key both keys
I had that same problem I just bent the part that held the cable so it would stretch the cable enough worked great the key thing is a whole other issue so the key won't turn the tumbler at all? If that's the case some one may have replaced the hatch and neglected to swap tumblers so that key...
Don't just do a flush drop the pan and replace the filter if you can tow it to a shop with a trans flush machine and flush it till the fluids clean!! Happened to my '97 it survived but I cought it before it started slipping driving a 2001 right now that I bought with the cooler failure did rad...
