Spent 3+ hours trying to install new 5100/OME front shocks on the 99 this weekend to no avail. I can't get the LCA down far enough to allow the top hat on the new spring to fit in. I also don't think the Duralast top hat is the same size (measures ~1/8th inch bigger than OEM) so that isn't...

Replaced with genuine OEM Denso and have had no issues so far! Didn't even look at what I pulled out but I saved them and will look at them when I get home.

Finished valve cover gaskets/seals, painting valve covers and intake, knock sensors, knock sensor harness, fuel injectors and misc hoses throughout. Need a new radiator cap as I noticed the spring on mine is missing. Next up is the timing belt. Thanks everyone for the awesome write-ups and...

Just finished up this job as well as valve cover gaskets/seals/etc. THANK YOU for the write up and pictures. This job wasn't fun to begin with so adding the time and effort to document the process so well is greatly appreciated. :reddance:

Got the knock sensors and harness installed. Spent some time cleaning up the engine -- previous owner was a little less anal about maintenance and cleanliness than I am I guess :p Waiting on fuel injectors from FiveOMotorsports and then can button everything back up.
