I flat tow my 1st gen everywhere I go. You only need to drop the rear driveshaft and make sure the front hubs are unlocked - no need to remove the front. I picked up a tow bar from Harbor Freight and drilled 2 holes in the front crossmember. There is a minimum width that the tow bar "arms"...
