No dried up coolant, no smoke. I've topped up and burped a half dozen times, check every few fill-ups.

06 t4r, 170k miles. milky deposit under oil cap, rushing water noise behind dash, expansion tank empty after fill ups and a few days of driving, only a slight hesitation on startup but doesn't seem to be temperature effected, smell of coolant while idling on starts. No CEL's, no signs of leaks...

I've always had good luck with Optima's, the yellows are particularly awesome for vehicles that see a lot of use with the vehicle off. Pricey, but piece of mind is nice.

I was in a similar situation as you, best thing you can do is get under the vehicle and inspect the bushings and ball joints. My bushings are showing obvious signs of being worn out, however my ball joints are still in decent condition. I'm holding off on doing the more costly (labor) bushings...

Replaced my 32" BFG k02's for some Goodyear Duratrac's. Colder climate awaits, and wanted more snow and ice performance.
