    XREAS life expectancy

Anyone have experience with MOOG springs? Summit Racing (near me) has F/R FJ pairs for about $60 a pair. Also, I'm thinking I could install 5100s in the front and 4600s in the back. Not sure that's advisable, though... Spoke to the garage service manager yesterday to let him know what I had...

    XREAS life expectancy

Thanks for your response. I already checked out Shockwarehouse. They quoted me $400 for front and rear Bilsteins; said I could keep my OEM springs. FJ springs and Bilstein 5100 shocks sound like a nicer combination but I may have to economize... But I may get lucky and find the FJ springs...

    XREAS life expectancy

Another X-REAS question Sorry to dig up an old thread but better to stay on topic, I guess: My 2007 4Runner Sport 4WD has 93,000 miles, accumulated in the salty winter conditions of northeast Ohio. When I put the snows on last fall I heard a clunk as I jacked up the rear axle and thereafter a...

Fixing the transfer case shift motor leak from within..

Thanks for your reply I have rebuilt engines from the crank out but have little experience with transmissions. On the other hand, if we're replacing the TC anyway....

What did you do with your 4runner today?

Performed a home-brew repair on the right headlight assembly. The seal failed - for what reason I don't know - and moisture began accumulating inside the assembly. It would condense on the inside of the lens and never seemed to dissipate. The right beam was dimmer and more diffused as a...

Fixing the transfer case shift motor leak from within..

Transfer case problems I have a 2007 4Runner Sport with 85,000 miles on it. I purchased it in 2011 with 45,000 miles from a dealer. I immediately had it inspected and pronounced "in good shape" by another Toyota dealer, and for the first few years god good use from it. About a year ago it...

    Gas tank door problem resolved.

Fuel filler door problem Had a similar problem when I bought my 2007 4Runner Sport in 2011. Door would not open, had been bent and misaligned. No matter what other fixes you apply, also be sure to lube the hinge with penetrating oil. That alone fixed my problem.

Evap codes (ALL OF THEM). Where to start?

Evap can and codes My 2007 4Runner Sport began throwing the same codes, at first occasionally and in colder weather, then all the time, from 2014 to this year. Dealer diagnosis was to replace the cap ($70); didn't help. I live in a state that requires passing an emissions test, so ignoring...

Frozen Calipers - How many others had this problem?

Me too! Bought my '07 SR5 Sport 4WD in July of 2011 with 45,000 miles on it. In May of 2012 I had brake work done; dealer replaced rotors, pads and hardware all four corners; >$800. At about the same time I had the brake fluid flushed and replaced; >$125. Since then I had been taking it in...

New SR5 4x4 - invoice and sales price details

Thank you for your post. I am new to this site having found it through a Google search. Your dealer cost information is very useful in my research. I have a 2007 Yaris and am about to acquire a 2011 4runner, SR5 probably, in the notheast Ohio area. I am looking for a vehicle that is equipped...
