I have the same problem. My phone will work intermittently. Here is info:
Phone: Moto Z2 Play
Android: 7.1.1
Truck: 2017 TRD Off Road
Issues:
1. It will not always connect when getting into car.
2. When it does connect sometimes it just connects the phone and then starts playing...
