A10MileHusker So, you just clipped the end of the charger's cord. Pulled out the 2 interior wires, and attached 1 to the fuse panel and the other you grounded? You're not worried about the input voltage to the phone charger that the usb-connector-base would have provided?

I have no idea if you'll see my comments here, or if someone else would have answers. Above, you mentioned that "I then went under the steering wheel in the foot well and snaked the wire through the firewall up to the box..." What do you mean by box? Do you mean the fuse box in the engine...
