We could only hope.... I wish it would go to 8 a gallon. Maybe then there might be some incentive for Toyota to update it. Right now they are selling more 4Runners then ever before and it is the highest profit margin car or truck they sell, so why would they ever update it?

I would never buy a 1-3 year old 4Runner over a new one. (Or Tacoma) I just sold my 2011 SR5 for 21K. I really want a truly new 4Runner (Basically no difference between 2021 and my 2011) Of course, I may die of old age before I see that..

The entire center stack is changed in the 2020. I have seen a photo of it from a dealer.

Using that logic they would still be using the 22-RE and a 4 speed auto. It is selling well(As most SUV's) and see no reason to change it I guess.
