Hello, have 2007 5 speed auto. I read several threads about changing fluid and I am lost after reading them. I guess I don't understand why I can't just drsin the fluid, drop the pan, change the filter, and refill fluid. If I can do it like that why is everyone else trying to make it so difficult?.

It appears to be leaking out the front area of the aluminum body where two lines go in that face the front of vehicle if that makes sense.

Hello, I have been seeing some totaled out. 4runners 06 and newer. I was wondering if they would go into my 03 so I could have a fresher engine and the 5 speed auto or would the computers not mesh up?

I did suspect swap bar. I clunks about the time tires rollover a bump so thats why I thought it was shocks. I dont regret doing the shocks because they were shot anyway and it better leveled out. Its 4WD.

Good to know. My wife has an 07 and I wouldnt mind doing a 5 speed transplant if I ever have to do a motor. I would just buy a wrecked rig for both. Has anyone done that swap? I just looked and seen mine has a build date of May 03 so kind of late build for the year.

Sorry to rivive an old thread but if I lose a head gasket in my 03 like they seem known for I would rather try this route than drop $3k on just replacing gaskets. The while OHC thing with the V6s and timing belts on the V8s seems to be a pain in their later years.
