It's pretty obvious when you go from another vehicle (including 4th gen 4Runner) to the 5th gen 4Runner that the pedal/ECU is tuned for maximum gas mileage. Yes if you could crack the ECU code and re-program you would get Tundra V-8 like MPG with a boost in acceleration, but that's impossible...
