At what point will we all start to realize Toyota is not in it to serve the offroad community. A trd pro sequoia, really? A brand new trd pro that the most notable change is the color green. What a disappointment. Do better TRD.
I’d suggest figuring out whether you want aluminum or steel first and the figure out, where to go from there. You also need to think about if you want additional skids. If so, you should probably go RCI or budbuilt.
I have the front runner jerry can mount from front runner. I wasn't able to use the mounting hardware it came with but was able to get everything i needed from home depot to make it work.
Check out the colorado FJ cruisers club (invite open to all toyotas). The group organizes trail runs that range from easy (stock friendly) to difficult. We encourage new people to join in the fun, especially ones looking to learn. Check out the group on FB.
The best way to learn is to get in...
Have you given your suspension a good cleaning since you got back? I have noticed similar issues after getting back from Moab but it seemed to clear up after a good wash.
Sounds like a good match for the TRDP. Keep it stock, throw some armor on and enjoy it. If you plan to rip the suspension out and mod the heck out of it, I would say ORP may be the better route so you can save some $ for parts.
Are you able to give your feedback to anyone at Toyota that might actually listen and make changes on future models? It would be nice if toyota actually spent more time and $ developing their off-road program to be able to compete.
You bought at the right time, cement is the only color than quicksand I would have purchased. I am struggling with the blue. I don’t think it looks nearly as aggressive as the rest. It is probably the only color I could actually sell my wife on if I were to sell her silver 2012 TE.
