April 2016 saw 5 digit sales for the Toyota 4Runner for the first time

Two things I'd opt for if I purchased all over again. 1. AWD 2. Power rear lift gate. The 2014 limited model I have is great, but I would have waited for the 2015 model to gain access to the power rear lift gate at the least. For me it is OK, but for my wife, the lift gate is a tad on the...

    Front Bumper to Fender Separation

You tell her. It won't happen. It's her vehicle. She wouldn't have any part of making it look rugged. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

    How-To-Guide (TRD CAI) Installation

Someone needs to parts and price source a supercharger for these new gens like that for some real power gains! Lol. Nice work on the parts sourcing guys! Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

    Front Bumper to Fender Separation

I hear you, but I can pop it back into place, but it will not stay. Not sure what is broken behind it. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

    Front Bumper to Fender Separation

Well at least mine isn't the only one. However this one hasn't been off-road, on a trail or ever been stuck. The bumper it has is fine(no intentions of upgrading it), it just makes no sense to why it is so weak in that area. Hopefully Toyota fixes it, as I do not feel I need to be responsible...

    Front Bumper to Fender Separation

That's great. I'm not in a hurry as I don't feel it is the fault of the owner(wife or myself), but a defective part or assembly by Toyota. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

    Front Bumper to Fender Separation

Idk...if so, there are no marks or indications of it. It's a 2014 with about 25k miles on it. It seems really weak in that area though. As in, not much support. Push slightly on the lower portion of the bumper and the two body parts easily move away from each other. This only happens on the left...

    Front Bumper to Fender Separation

I can't seem to figure out why the area where the bumper meets the fender keeps separating. The separation will vary from a 1/4" to 1/2". Its the seem between the two directly under the headlight. You can pop it back into place, but it barely wants to stay together. Once you drive it, it will...

    Where should I stick it???

Biased I see. There's nothing wrong with American made cars and trucks these days. My last foreign luxury car, that was made in Japan was a huge expensive headache. It even lived at the dealership while under warranty. I guess when a vehicle is engineered with barely enough power, you don't...

    Porsche Cayenne S

450 would be far fetched for a Toyota SUV. 350-375 hp would be optimal, but would need to achieve 25 & up MPG's as well. I only see this done with a smaller liter engine and turbo charged. A unibody chassis will be the next gen 4R. I hope they do it right to keep strength and ground clearance...

    Porsche Cayenne S

The wife can drive her 2014 4Runner Limited all day, but I just cannot get over the lack of power. The peak power output is almost at the top of the rpm curve. I'd find it difficult to let go of the power output of the Porsche Cayenne for the timid power output of the 4Runner. I guess I just...

What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

Did my first Toyota oil change. Was to my wife's 2014 4Runner Limited. It has 23k miles on it and I'd prefer to do the routine maintenance from now on. Changed the oil with some Mobil 1 0w-20 Advanced Fuel Economy, replaced OEM oil filter with a K&N filter cartridge, replaced air filter with...

Lug nut torque...what value do YOU use?

80-90 ft. Lbs is acceptable. The inconsistencies between torque wrenches will give you these outcomes. Those who are torquing them over 90ft lb are playing Russian Roulette. I worked in several different tire & wheel shops in my teens and very early 20's. Not only are you chancing the...

    Lift Gate Panel Removal

Thanks man! Looks like a bunch of plastic pins and a few wire connections. It even looks as though I will be able to easily access the crease from just the removal of one of the speakers... Hopefully.

TRD Pro Owners: I have a request...

Looks like a simple install. It looks like a standard bracket retaining the shock reservoir. I'm betting there is a OEM hole punched in the frame rail to mount it. Good luck with the new suspension install! I'd love to install a kit like that myself. Too bad the wife wanted a Limited 5th gen....
