I agree, this is why I am about done "dallying" around. The 5th gen does not have an awesome look but I am afraid of what nonsense might be around the corner.
I would love to have one, but I sincerely doubt it will happen. I'd probably not buy it just because the wife would never be able to drive it and would refuse to learn. Then, there is the resale issue. I had a really nice RX-8 that I had to part with but when people found out it was a manual...
Jeep just needs to take the next step, put a permanent cab over the back of the Gladiator, and make something approach that Safari concept. At that point they are truly competing with the 4runner. Until then, they don't have a vehicle for my lifestyle.
