Things you did not know about your 4runner

If you leave the map light on and go on vacation to Hawaii for a week your 4Runner will not start when you get back.

    Hitch Mounted Bike Rack Question

As you can see in this picture, a Thule rack puts the bike seats just below the roofline. I went with the Thule because it fits a 2" receiver without any sort of sleeve or adaptor. I bought the Thule locking hitch bolt, and then run a cable through the U bolts on the hitch receiver and through...

    ANTMAN'S Thread

Hey Antman, I love all the things you've done. That headlight mod also takes care of the fogged headlight issue. It looks like your new subwoofer interferes with your shelf you built, or have you mounted it flat now? Off to go do the fog light mod. :thanks:

Load Inflation Tables and Correct PSI

Awesome JB. I wish I'd seen this sooner. Nice work.

Load Inflation Tables and Correct PSI

At 35 psi on a 285, you aren't that far off of what the stock P265 is at 32 psi. In fact, you are only 100 pounds under the load limit of 2205. However, if you are running an LT265 at 35 psi, then you are at 1890 lbs, over 300 lbs under the load limit for stock. My point in posting this was to...

Load Inflation Tables and Correct PSI

Right, but this is a warning to make sure that you choose a tire whose capability is greater than 1/2 of the GAWR. It says nothing about tire pressure. The stock Dunlops have a maximum load of 2535, The GY S/As have one of 2470.

Load Inflation Tables and Correct PSI

Hey everyone, Tomorrow, after 42,000 miles of driving on the Dunflops, I'm having some Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armor tires put on my 4Runner. I'm going with the LT 265/70/17 Load Range C tires. Thanks to the OP who ran the JP magazine article about the 33 different off road tires, as that...

Toyota issues "fix" for axle wrap / driveshaft clunky-thumpy

Thanks for posting this. I can't remember when it started, but many times I've checked my rearview thinking I'm getting bumped from behind.

    45 psi ???

If you have P rated 265/70/17s then it should be 32. However, if you have LT 265/70/17s then it should be 44 psi.

    Window tint question

From a fellow registered Texan: If you haven't had it fixed yet, it really isn't that big of a deal. You just have to pay more during the annual inspection. On my Chevy truck that had overly dark tinted front windows, I had to pay an extra $17 per year.

TRD CAI vs K&N AIR FILTER

I can't imagine that an 8 or 10 horsepower increase that a CAI is supposed to provide would even be noticeable. I've had a K&N for about 5000 miles. It's great, cost me $50, and never needs to be replaced.:cowboy:

    Looking for a Trail Edition

Within the last two years sold two cars: (1) a 2004 Honda Civic, carmax offered me $8000, Edmunds said it was worth about $11,500, I then went the private route, ****ed around for a month as people would call and then cancel. Finally sold privately for $9000. I walked away $1000 richer but don't...
