I have never reset the ECU, however I have disconnected battery/swapped battery though I do not believe that resets the ECU. You'll lose your settings but if you've only been in it 5mos that might not be a big inconvenience. Lots of traffic really kills the MPG in these things :laugh: but...

I would consider a hybrid landcruiser or GX if they offered one. Anything to extend the range and lessen fuel stops. A bigger gas tank would be preferable. Full electric tho, that would be a tougher sell for me unless they priced it pretty low. It's going to be awhile before the battery...

Congrats on the GX! I love my 2011. IMO 2010-2013 is still the sweet spot for GX price/value, and they get a little cheaper every day.

Rear-mount tire with larger fuel capacity would be a wonderful thing. Prado gets a 150L capacity, no reason that the sportier 4runner shouldn't. Yeah it looks more and more like we won't get anything new until 2020, 2021, and if history repeats itself, we'll probably see a new landcruiser...
