What do you mean grinded a groove in the bolt so it catches? When the bolt head is on the inside of the frame on the flat surface what is it gonna catch on so it doesn't just keep turning when trying to tighten it?

Ive got a similar issue with the nuts breaking off inside the frame, did you cut into the frame through the "end caps" to get in there?

Ive read a few threads, but all ive seen is someone who cut into the frame through the "end caps" and another video of a guy who welded two nuts onto two washers and fished it in there for both holes. Only one of my washers broke free so far... Im wondering if anyone else has experienced this...

How did you get it to fit well? what did you modify on the metal brace? was it because of the two plastic "wing" type peices that transfer from the old grille to the new one?
