update.. after going thru the process again, I found out the adaptor valve used to puncture/screw onto the freon canister was defective.. purchased one of the bigger can with the gauges, hooked it up the low side.. it took less then a minute before the clutch engaged :bounce: .. now I have cold...

When i finished the swap and bleed the system i was expecting a ck light of some sort but no, no ck lights of anykind other then my tire sensor light.. we to bleed it the way we do all our cars ( rear pass, rear driver, front pass then front driver.. . i thought i was gonna have to take it to...

An update.. so the new pump motor wasnt bad or cause of the squel instead of trying to replace the accumulator i went ahead and replaced the whole unit with a refurbish one.. straight fwd swap took about 2-3hrs from start to finish bleed the brakes, no ck lights and no more noise!! .. to be...

From just examining mine it feels as if the seal around the glass really soft.. so the question is if i were to order a new glass roof will it come with the parts thats rusting away.. been looking at the parts/diagrams for the past few days but havent been able to pinpoint what it is..

When i searched the net it appears it also affected some other toyota models not just 4runners.. just having a hard time finding the correct pieces in the diagram/parts list or if the its only sold as a whole glass assembly.

Ebay units are 50/50 even if they warranty it, i would still have to take it back apart and send it back.. found a site that refurbs the oem unit with new parts 600+150 core charge +1yr warranty, send your unit back for the refund or if you knoe its the motor thats bad its about 300 for a new...

seems fairly eaasy to remove and replace.. really didnt want to replace the whole unit if its just the pump but from researching a new pump was around $400 or so is the only reason im consiidering just replacing the whole unit refurb with warranty incase its not just a bad pump ��

you guys hit it on the mark... i never thought about it since this past snow i never had an issue with built up snow.. my guess is slush freezes quicker and iced up between tranny and underbody must be a linkage up in-between to the tranny.. after 30mins or so with water hose it shifts normal...
