The footprint is very close to the stock rack as far as width goes.. here is a distant pic of my 7/8 rack all dusted up.

I actually did that first, and wish I had taken a picture. It looked like hell. i did a quick photoshop of the side profile with it a bit more contoured. I did more of a straight across cut. If I had contoured it a bit more, it might not have been too bad.

I've not had any problems with anything getting up in there other than mud, and it sprays out easy enough.

Sawzall with fine tooth blade and edge trim. The SSO kit is nice, and adds a level of protection, but to me, it takes the cut too high.

Truth! All of my stuff is pretty much stained the color of mud.

Thanks! I worked hard to perfect it. I tried a lot of different kits. It ended up being the simple method though. Throw on some springs and call it a day.. LOL

I say go with the 700# coils. I have 650#x14 coils with hardly any additional weight, and to me it rides and handles perfect. Zero preload. So if you have a setup that allows for preload adjustment, keep that in mind as to how stiff it will feel. Edit.. LOL, I had just read the 1st page before...
