I agree with Dropzone. I think a compression test may reveal a lot. I think if you potentially have bad rings that you may get some blow-by and therefore why your oil seems to smell like fuel. Or, it should also reveal if there's a head gasket issue. Let us know what the test results show.

Man, I commend your diligence. That looks like a hell of a project. Great looking rig though. Seems like you've been able to put up a ton of info on here for folks to learn from.

Negative. I'm in Jacksonville, FL. Good ol' USA. I'm running 31x10.5" tires on 15x8 Rock Crawler steel wheels. Sorry - can't remember the backspacing on the rims. I've been considering going back to the stock '95 rims, but everytime I walk outside I decide that the black rims just look too good.
