I have an V8 05 LTD (Galactic Gray) with every option but NAV offered that year. It has 18,000 miles on it and looks and drives brand new. I managed to get two 6 month lease extensions which will finally expire in March 09. My buyout is about 19k and I'm trying to decide if it's worth buying...
I sure hope you're right! I've been a loyal Toyota customer for 15 years. SUV, pickups and cars! If they don't make this one right I will never buy another one. They make a hell of product but ther is no excuse for this to have gone on this long. Time will tell if they're going to do the right...
I agree... but 40 grand ought to buy you a little something or than lip service from the dealer. Lexus found a way to take care of their customers.... I don't believe Toyota has even tried so far.
My dealer says the same thing! He looked at the Lexus TSB like it was coated with anthrax! They really didn' read it because he said... oh well.. that's Lexus! I said yes.. they are actually fixing their customers SUV as opposed to this GREASING BS!! They've done it 3 times on mine and it's...
Re: Rear drive shaft being replaced...
WOW........ great post and great info! Sounds like you have great dealer that's willing to take care of the problem. Please keep us posted as to the results........
Sounds like your system is working for you so keep doing it! I sort of have to laugh because now we have extended oil service with synthetic oil but now have to grease the slip yoke every 5k miles... lol... Thank you Toyota! Another clever innovation from those wonderful folks that brought us...
roflmao...... You're right....... and knock on some wood today! lol
BTW.. I've tried lubing this sucker till I'm blue in the face. It simply returns in a 1000 miles or so. Someone also posted that to much lube can damage the driveline?
If you don't have the "CLUNK" you might want to consider the lottery......... It's a design flaw that's been there since 03! I believe all dealers use synthetic grease and it's been done to many Runners without much success as it always returns! My service manager admits they have dozens of...
Since it's a design flaw I suspect almost every 4Runner has to have the problem! Some people might not be aware of it.... Sounds strange but I know people that don't notice their brakes pads are grinding their rotors into metal dust until the car can't stop! I can't see how any Runners could...
I seriously doubt you could even get a Lexus dealer to install the new part. Even if you could get them to do it this is not an inexpensive fix as I understand it. Why shouldn't Toyota fix the problem if they recognize it's a very annoying problem with the Lexus? My dealer is certainly getting...
The forum is exactly the right place to voice problems! It's exactly why everyone with this problem knows what is going on with Toyota. I've been bugging them quite a lot but I have other things to do like a job, etc.... :D This shouldn't even be an issue because Toyota is well aware of the...
Unfortunately with 2 ft of snow the 2WD doesn't cut it around this part of the country. What I will be buying however is anything but another Toyota unless they make this right........ ;):
