FS: 3rd Gen, Minneapolis PRICED TO SELL

I would like to sell my 4Runner. This truck is simply awesome, I just need to find something better on gas. My commute to work is 50 miles round trip and some days I do an additional 25 miles for day care. At an average of 18 MPG I am using up 100 gallons of gas a month or more. Stats: 2000...

    Parts stolen, exhaust question.

It's not that I am against universal aftermarket parts. My thinking here is if I have to pay up to $500 anyways, why not get the most for my money and get the $3400 dealer repair. If I go Magnaflo I'll just end up paying for the whole repair.

The insurance dance has begun. They don't want to pay the repair bill and are sending a damage adjustor out to inspect the truck. Now I have to wait two more business days for him to come out when they could have sent him out last week.

    Frickin Thieves got me

I would prefer to have my truck fixed with OE parts. They didn't just cut out the cat, when they tore it out they damaged the wiring harnes the O2 sensors are plugged into. So to fix it OE style I need: Cat Pipe before cat Pipe after cat (has muffler on it) both O2 sensors Parts and labor to...

    Parts stolen, exhaust question.

I thought of that. My guard would likely be made of square tubing and be more of a cage than a skid plate. I have plenty of 1x1 and 1x2 in the shop. I will probably even go get some solid stuff as well.

    Parts stolen, exhaust question.

Thanks for the info. So to repair this to OE I need the cat, the pipe before it and after it, 2 O2 sensors, possibly some wiring work, and all the misc gaskets and hardware involved. I'll be talking to the insurance company about this in the morning.

    Parts stolen, exhaust question.

Crap! I'm more worried about the wiring than the sensors. If they cut the exhaust then they either ripped out or cut the wires. Great. Are there any other O2 sensors, like on the exhaust manifolds or cross pipe? Or are they only down there?

    Parts stolen, exhaust question.

Ok, some gutless little shit decided to steal my catalytic converter today while I was at work. Right in the parking lot at work in the middle of the day, they came and cut it out with a saws all. The exhaust was cut right behind the firewall where the exhaust turns to go into the cat. and it...

    Stereo installation problem.

FIXED! Over my lunch break I pulled out the stereo really quick. I spotted the orange wire Crutchfield told me to look for and I pulled it out of the harness they supplied me. Then I went under the hood to find the blown fuse. The 10A tail light fuse was blown. Replaced that and everything...

    Stereo installation problem.

I can't post a pic right now, but to answer your questions about what the wiring looks like. I used red butt connectors and the black snrink tubing. Quality wiring. I called Crutchfield. They claim there is a huge bold warning that sais not to hook up the orange/black wire for illumination...

    Stereo installation problem.

Hey guys. I just bought a stereo from Crutchfield. It came with a wire harness adapter, and the dash kit. Anyways, I got the stereo installed I had to unhook the amp behind the deck to get to the right wires for the speakers and to power the deck. There was this weird wire connected to the...
