I grew up in the NW so have driven a lot of things in the rain. Now I live in Austin so slightly different test case. But..... I love my KO2s. When its dumping rain in Texas (which is basically the only way it rains in Texas) I feel like I have great grip. Also felt like some of the lane...
Still doing great.
Was driving coworkers back from lunch last week. Had to stomp on the gas. This makes the intake get real loud. Everyone was like "what was that?!" and "That does not sound like we are going to soccer practice."
So 2 things:
1) My coworkers are *******s
2) Turns our the...
Soooooo..... Funny you mention this. I had a minor panic attack yesterday. I needed to get my 4Runner inspected to complete Texas registration renewal. While I was on the website I noticed Texas had a specific FAQ about intakes. Apparently Texas is a CARB state. :(
Decided to take it in...
Was playing with it again this morning. That plug is not a great seal. It fits and does not move, but nowhere near air tight. There is air moving around it. I kinda think its purpose might be noise suppression.
Unless the intake was more restrictive than the exhaust system to begin with? If that’s how that works?
One thing I have noticed. The fuel economy is extremely volatile now. Put your foot down (or climb a hill) and it starts chugging gas. More so than before. (From watching the mpg readout) If...
Might give them a call. I called them about a week before it shipped, they said they were waiting on the filters. Seemed like they were pretty transparent about where their logistics were at.
OMG, that would suck. So nerd moment... I have a dB meter. I have not done a great job of working out the difference yet. But I doubt it will be measurable, unless you are at high RPMs. At rest, inside, don't think there is a difference.
Have not seen anyone talking about this intake yet, so thought I would post my thoughts.
When I ordered the intake, aFe emailed and said that I had pre-ordered and the first batch was still being produced. 2-3 weeks later they shipped.
Install was easy. Everything fit as expected. Loved...
Played with that idea. Did not like the way the designs were coming out. Also would have been harder to get it to blend. Copying a little bit from the way the crawl controls look. Those protrude.
I know this is an old thread but I just tested this and have an answer.
Really want to do this and I have an SR5.
I was thinking there is no way Toyota is printing different PCBs or whatever for ECUs for the different trims. So I stuck a probe in where that white wire should be. Sure enough, I...
Yes and no. Its possible over a long time horizon. But I think the printer runs at something crazy like 230 degrees C. so outright heat killing the plastic is unlikely. I have yet to have that happen on any of my projects. If the PLA is getting tortured, so is all the other plastic in the...
