Did you ever figure out how to get your bypass to work? Struggling with my '08 V8 Limited also. Tried using a splicing connector and unplugging the harness/wiring between the black/red and pink/black wires - no luck with either.

Dealing with smog (California) was a little bit of a headache because the tech didnt believe that they were CARB complaint. Besides that, maybe a slight improvement in torque? No noticeable difference in sound.

Congrats on your new 4R! My guy said he wouldnÂ’t do this job again because of how many things can go sideways, so I canÂ’t share where I had it done. He charged me $1,400 labor. YouÂ’ll have better luck at smaller shops that can weld or exhaust-specially shops.

I did! I can't believe my luck, in the best way. A friend's brother was selling his '08 V8 Limited (with work to be done, i.e. exhaust headers, SAIS CEL, fuel sending unit).

I'm not sure why the CEL came on while the bypass was installed. We had already removed the bracket with the coolant line running through it the check valves mount to by the time we found this video. It ended up being the most helpful resource for completing the job and putting everything back...

I did. It was helpful in getting the intake off, but the big difference is how much space there is between the check valves and the firewall. In the Tundra/Sequoia (shown in that video), there's enough room to get a hand and a wrench back there to loosen the two bolts that secure the check...

I'm in a pretty temperate climate and will be using my 4R to get up to and back from Lake Tahoe for ski/snowboard season mostly. I don't suspect rust will be any sort of issue for me with the ceramic coating.
