Okay. So the shop called and confirmed it is a head gasket job, will cost between 1500-2200 and they can only work on it next week. Not sure if I can manage without the car or spend this much money. Anyone here interested in taking the truck (everything else is good) from me for cheap, ? :confused:

He had a pressure tester like in the first video which he attached to the radiator opening after topping it completely with water. Lets see what diagnosis he comes up with tomorrow morning. Will keep you all posted. Thanks for all your help guys.. :sadwave:

Okay, some update. I called around a few places, all were suspecting a head gasket failure and roughly estimated 2000 bucks. I shortlisted two. 1.Bill Tyson's Auto Repair - Royal Palm Beach, FL and 2.BJ's Wrench Connection, Lake Park, FL I reached home after work and checked the coolant level...

I just hope even I get lucky! I think the engine swap would be more expensive. Sorry I realized you already mentioned your friends experience. I am located at palm beach gardens. South Florida. Thanks for looking it up. Its a bit far from here so I'll have to ship it, the whole swap seems...

Mine is a 97 model but manufactured in 96. I just moved here man, difficult to manage a big expense now... :violin: What puzzles me is I got no warning signs, like overheating or whatever..!

Even I am not too keen on the Blue devil treatment. The car was not driven, it was transported. Do you think swapping the engine is a better option than getting the head gasket job done? Wont it cost a lot more? Thanks. Any experience with this place?

I called around a few places and getting rough quotes of 1700-2000 for the head gasket job. They all obviously cant confirm till they checkout the truck. There is a place called as BJ's Wrench Connection which I would be mostly finalizing. Anyone in the the Palm Beach County got any...

Thanks man. But I am thinking of getting it fixed for good rather than temporary. I called the mechanic here and he mentioned the same test to be done to confirm the head gasket issue. So I will rather get it tested there.

Thanks for all your inputs guys. I am thinking of taking the truck to a mechanic in the evening. If it is the head gasket, then whats the consensus - should it be fixed or I should get a new engine? :wacko:

Will try it again today evening as I hitched a ride with my coworker today and left the truck at home. I changed the radiotor and flushed the coolant almost a year back, is it possible that the air bubbles are still there? The video is finally uploaded through my crappy mobile network. Check...

I really wish it is the case! I tried this today morning and saw a lot of bubbles coming out! Is this the sure sign of HG being shot? I see even you are in PBC, is there anyone you would know? Boca is a bit of drive from here. But please send me his contact details in case I need it...

Thanks for the advise and consolation man. I have topped off the coolant in the reservoir and will get an extra can just to keep it handy. I will try the hand test tomorrow morning when I start the truck and post it back. :pray:
