Rear Suspension - Need 1in More Lift

I have been talking with a bunch of the spring manufactures and retailers about what I am looking for. I have a little bit more research to do before I make a decision. The last thing that I have to do is remove one of the rear springs and measure the free standing height to be combined with the...

Rear Suspension - Need 1in More Lift

I need to give them another call. Whomever I talked with at Metaltech recently told me that they didn't have anything to fit my needs, which is basically just a taller higher rate spring. I will ask specifically about the long travel springs and find out what rates they are running. Thank you!

Rear Suspension - Need 1in More Lift

Ok great idea. I will give Allpro a call and see what they have to say. I wouldn't want to swap out my rear shocks since I REALLY like the Radflo 2.5 w/ remote reservoirs and compression adjustors. I need to do some suspension numbers to figure that out. With the current setup, I do have a bunch...

Rear Suspension - Need 1in More Lift

I didn't even think to check with Cornfed. I will look into that. It may be a good solution for the time being while I work out the springs. Thanks for the suggestion!

Rear Suspension - Need 1in More Lift

Ahh got it... I did not consider them as an option. I wonder how much they would impact the overall suspension dampening. I the Radflo system I have has remote reservoirs with compression adjusters. Typically I keep them at the greatest amount of dampening for on-road driving and then some...

Rear Suspension - Need 1in More Lift

For sure! That is really what I am looking for in the end. However, it needs to be a taller spring in addition to being sifter. The current set from Radflo are 220lb springs. I am looking for a greater spring rate than that.

Rear Suspension - Need 1in More Lift

Ahh yes... That is great info. I did not know about these multi-rate springs. I need to give ICON a call. I don't see the spring rate on their website. I like the idea of a multi rate spring especially since my truck is my daily driver, weekend wheeler, and week long camping rig all in one. Each...

Rear Suspension - Need 1in More Lift

Nice! Those should fit. I will look into this one a bit more. It doesn't say what the thickness is, but I can dig on this and find out. Thanks!

Rear Suspension - Need 1in More Lift

I saw those and need to call ICON to find out what their spring rate is. Do you by chance know? Also, once I have the free standing height of my springs, I should be able to determine if something like the Outlander springs will work. I have taken notice that ICON lifted 5th Gens do sit taller...

Rear Suspension - Need 1in More Lift

Devil's Advocates are welcome! One of the first things I had done was using floor jacks on the frame, raise the rear of the truck by varied amounts to determine what difference these increases would make. 1.25 inches was a shocking amount of rake. Honestly, it surprised the hell out of me. It...

Rear Suspension - Need 1in More Lift

Are you referring to load assist air bags? If so, I looked into these and they would limit suspension down travel and articulation based on their design. I can't say that I looked at every airbag/airshock option out there, but all of the ones that I did research, would impact suspension...

Rear Suspension - Need 1in More Lift

I have had the Radflo 2.5 suspension on my truck for well over a year now and I love it. However, I need to get some rake back into the truck for a number of reasons. 1) I need the load carrying capacity when camping and exploring the back country. My current typical load leaves the rear sagging...

How did you coat your sliders?

Rustoleum textured on mine. I have scratched them all the hell, touched them up, and washed them a bunch of times. I think they still look great and they are easy to touch up. I went with this paint for the reason that I could touch them up easily with the sliders still on the truck. The...

    FJ Summit 2015

I will be attending as well. This will be my 3rd year in a row! It is a great event and amazing scenery. Looking forward to meeting a few of you out there. I am sure there will be a few TRD Pro TR4Rs but if you see an Inferno Red with a Gobi Stealth rack, ladder, hi-lift jack, axe, shovel...
